  2. For the longest time airsoft guns have been the go to for Stargate costuming but, depending on the make and model, they can pricey or, sometimes, hard to find. Well, I've found a couple of alternatives to airsoft along with some places to shop for these alternatives along with low priced airsofts. The newest option out there are water guns coming out of Japan. There seems to be a new trend there now of releasing water guns (aka squirt guns) that are based on either guns from famous franchises (there's a replica of the pistols from Blade Runner and from Yamato aka Star Blazers) or from actual real steel firearms. A good site for these is Wish.com, there's quite a few different ones being sold including a white P90, but, sadly, it's the tri-rail version and not the standard red dot used by SG-1. But you can also find ARs, bolt action "sniper" rifles, an AUG, and I've seen an M249 SAW. Another alternative, once again mainly for pistols, are air guns. There's actually a good number of licensed air gun replicas of popular real steel pistols. These pistols look just like the real thing and base on a couple that I've held, weight about the same too. I've seen these at Bass Pro Shops but they might be also available through Cabela's since they're essentially one and the same now. These, for the most part, are retailing for $50 - $60, with rifles going in to the low $100 range. Both the water and air guns might be good alternatives for people who either can't find an airsoft version of their favorite pistol, or one at a price they're happy with, or just with the looks and feel. The water pistols are probably the most con safe and should pass security checks readily due to their weight. The air guns might be tougher to get past security depending on just how strict the con is, but not carrying any BBs/pellets and/or CO2 cartridges should help a lot.
  3. Been talking with Eric about his Airsoft P-90 and offered to upgraded his magazines with a paper insert. Figured I'd share and make a tutorial at the same time. It's pretty easy project. All that is require is a screwdriver and a pair of scissors. First, download and print the insert PDF P-90-Magazine-Insert.pdf Then begin removing the screws, six to start. I've never found a magazine that doesn't follow the same screw layout. Once removed, you'll have to separate the end cap by pressing in and sliding the cap off, which will release spring that will slide out. Now that the screws and the cap are removed, you will be able to separate the two sections of the magazine. Inside you'll find another set of screws on the storage for the BB's that will need remove. Once removed, you'll have to cut out the insert, fold, and trim as needed. The insert will simply lay inside and be held in place by the BB storage. Then begin reassembling and once complete, you'll have an upgraded magazine. Keeping in mind that the tint of the plastic and printer quality will greatly effect just how visible the insert will be.

But it is no longer manufactured or available. Moreover, the original does not adapt to replicas. It must have been designed from scratch! Modeling (by wt808). On my request, custom-made, and licensed Thingiverse. Printed in 17H00 on a MK3, then assembled, sanded and painted. All by myself, with the addition of a strap fastener. - An adaptable strap with the harness of the P90 has been realized and installed by StarGeeke Sewing - Double magazine WE open bolt gbbr (80 bbs) + simple magazine WE open bolt gbbr (30 bbs) This replica is not 100% accurate to the TV series A compromise had to be made between the materials, the choice of GBBr compatible parts and the functionality. There is 1 year of work and research here (including lacrosse) to reach this result. Yes I took my time ^^ For more photos in HD quality : Click HERE Website of my association. This replica is obviously completely functional! [AIRSOFT] However at the moment when I write these lines, I have not yet had the opportunity to do a power test ... I answer questions. And I remain open to comments. The photos are protected under copyright logo Thank you :)
