Honcho 175 Posted April 23, 2019 This tutorial will instruct you on how to roll up your sleeves the "US Army Way". The US Air Force uses this style as well. Currently with Operational Camouflage Pattern depending on your Base Commander you can roll up your sleeves year round. At the time I made this tutorial, I used 6-Color Desert Camo, also known as "Chocolate Chip". As of September 27, 2016 Soldiers in Garrison can wear their OCP ACUs sleeves rolled up with camo outward (The US Army Way) or inward (The USMC Way). https://www.army.mil/article/175866/army_issues_new_guidance_on_rolling_cuffing_sleeves To learn how to roll up your sleeves the "USMC Way" see our tutorial on "Rolling your sleeves the US Marines Way" The is the "US Army Way" to roll up your sleeves (originally the Army stopped allowing sleeves to be rolled up on uniforms issued after the BDUs). Step 1: Remove the shirt (Blouse). You cannot roll up your sleeves in this way with the shirt on. Step 2: Unbutton the cuff tab Step 3: Rebutton the tab to the closest button on the sleeve Step 4: Hold cuff and let shirt hang down Step 5: Fold Sleeve over until the end of the cuff touches or is really close to the armpit seam Step 6: Pull the new open end apart to remove any bunching Step 7: Fold open end over about 4 fingers width, pull the open end apart to get rid of any bunching Step 8: Fold open end over about 4 fingers width again, pull the open end apart to get rid of any bunching Step 9: Fold the actual end of the cuff back over the folded material, pull opening apart to get rid of any bunching Step 10: All done, looking STRACK! The US Army chose to roll up their sleeve this way so you could pull them down quickly. Step 1: Pull cuff end downwards Step 2: Unbutton the cuff tab and rebutton on one of the other buttons to shrink the cuff opening to fit better.
