Off World Jacket Pattern
Dr Rodnay replied to Arkraider's topic in SG1 - Stargate SG-1 Costume Tutorials
Unfortunately, that would be the only I haven't (yet) made myself ^^ -
I agree and second that.

Sheppard wore a tan flightsuit in the SGA 3x09 by the way ^^ But I think taht Eric just want to keep it as a souvenir as is maybe?
-
Flightsuit is a always a win, and besides, it's very practical, I love wearing my own. Plus, it's a variety of costumes in one, just having to change the patches (you might have noticed the Tintin-inspired costume I put together earlier this year, based on my USAF SG flightsuit π). If you're looking for a graet Daedalus patch and don't mind for shipping, my friend Angel Sewing has them 100% accurate, I made the designs π
-
...which is obviously not in our intentions ass long as it is only for costume and entertainment sake. That's why, even if we are hard-core costumers down for accuracy, it's better to introduce smaller or bigger typos, errors or moddifications to the design of replica cards to specifiy they're not real and not intended to pretend being such π

Looks quite the part, except for some color difference, but seems to be the good model at least π

GwΓ©n's MCRN costumes
Dr Rodnay replied to Dr Rodnay's topic in The Expanse (2015 TV Series) Costume & Prop Discussions
Well, I'm not down to the scratch thing because I hate tarnish my work, but I know the thing about "down to the last stitch" XD I think that heat might provoke some additional smocking, or whiten/opacify them, but I confess I never tried either π -
GwΓ©n's MCRN costumes
Dr Rodnay replied to Dr Rodnay's topic in The Expanse (2015 TV Series) Costume & Prop Discussions
Thanks! Well, actually, I don't havee any of the skill of tools to do that, so I just spent long hours looking for the good model π Turned out well. Especially for the price, less than 10 bucks, I don't think it's worth trying to replicate when we can just buy it cheap over at Amazon ^^ But yes, even cheaper could be just a piece of smoked plastic sheet like ones used to make visors on helmets maybe. -
Martians, while on Earth, weat specific sunglasses to protect their eyes from higher solar intensities on Earth. Here are the sunglasses I identified being the good model. https://www.amazon.com/Silver-Mirror-Novelty-Shield-Sunglasses/dp/B00T8GS0H2/ref=pd_sbs_309_4?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00T8GS0H2&pd_rd_r=923e3660-d648-11e8-9d6c-c9b18a29d030&pd_rd_w=R3Dla&pd_rd_wg=xM0ty&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=7d5d9c3c-5e01-44ac-97fd-261afd40b865&pf_rd_r=0DGH8VGV76E70QBSYQM3&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=0DGH8VGV76E70QBSYQM3 However, they appear to no longer be available, so two solutions: you can either source another retailer, or opt for a less accurate version, here: https://www.amazon.com/grinderPUNCH-Silver-Futuristic-Sunglasses-Glasses/dp/B01CQ4FNWM/ref=cts_ap_1_vtp I attached the file to print (at scale) the MMC and MCRn decals to be put on the glasses, plus a custom-made boxart design π

Hey there! Here are some pictures from a quick project I made π I had the idea last year while preparing an exhibition on the Moon at my lab, what if Tintin's lunar adventures took place nowadays? So i designed a set of custom patches, representing the Lunar Rocket, the Syldavian Space Center of Sbrodj, and the iconic red number that all personnel of that base wore on his overall. I used my USAF-issued flightsuit to wear them.

Hey there everyone! Long time not posting here, but couldn't help but seeing a blanck The Expanse subforum, so I had to post something on it π Here are some pictures of my Martian costumes: two dress uniforms, as seen in seasons 2 and 4. One from the MCRN, inspired by Martens', and the other of the MMC, inspired by Draper's. I also modded the Emsa City Cup to have my Martian mug. I got lucky enough to find the excact model of the sunglasses, so I made the decals and designed a box for them too π And I made a real MCR flag too π Enjoy! π

Blue Flight Suit
Dr Rodnay replied to Eric Voiers's topic in SG-1 - Stargate SG-1 Costume Discussions
Well, nearly all the blue flightsuits I can remeber were worn by Prometheus personnel. Maybe Novak aboard Daedalus wore, but not sure about that. -
Nice one, TER aren't that common too π

SpΓ©cial Carter : Olympic Arms K23 pistol
Dr Rodnay replied to mate's topic in SG-1 - Stargate SG-1 Prop Discussions
I agree, for me, Carter's is even more like a completely slick smooth stock butt. A friend of mine made one several years ago, not a print, only sculp, and he made it entirely slick. Anyway, I saw this replica first hand by myself earlier this year, and I can assure you @mate did an awesome job in assembling this replica, and I would try it someday on the field if I get the chance π Did you made a shorter strap to attach it to the P90 harness as Carter's doing on the picture you embedded up there? -
Boots and cap Greer's uniform
Dr Rodnay replied to mate's topic in SGU - Stargate Universe Costume & Prop Discussions
About the boot, Phil definitively has something. It seemed to me too they were 5.11, they might have had a similar model in the past. For the cap, still in the past tense, I found cheap cap that were very close, and under 10β¬ (I said they were cheap ^^) at local surpluses and on websites. -
Atlantis Leather Jacket
Dr Rodnay replied to Eric Voiers's topic in SGA - Stargate Atlantis Costume Discussions
Protection for work, looks like the Godfather XD But yeah, makes sense. Or at least, they could have helped with contact for furnitures via commercial partners. Teyla often repeated that they knew lots of "commercial partners" throughout the series. At least in Universe, they didn't do that error and kept the same clothes all along, even finding a way to explain they would never run off of power with finding some inducction power station to charge radios. -
Atlantis Leather Jacket
Dr Rodnay replied to Eric Voiers's topic in SGA - Stargate Atlantis Costume Discussions
Yeah, that's so right. My own theory was that they used casual leather jackets to try to better blend in while exploring. Well, the tacvest would have spoiled this, but why not. -
Atlantis Leather Jacket
Dr Rodnay replied to Eric Voiers's topic in SGA - Stargate Atlantis Costume Discussions
McKay even has two different designs ! Well, in fact, second's is Sheppard's in S5 episode "The Shrine", so Sheppard has two different designs. -

Atlantis Leather Jacket
Dr Rodnay replied to Eric Voiers's topic in SGA - Stargate Atlantis Costume Discussions
Nice jacket! I had a jacket like that some times ago, also had it for litteraly two bucks on eBay. Not an exact replica of an Atlantean jacket, but what it cool with them, it's that as every character has its own jacket, yo can have any design you want π Here's an old picture of my former jacket π -
Hey there! Yesterday, I just add the final touch to my s1.5-3 blue paneled McKay uniform by making the panels' covers. So here are some photos, along with older ones of the complete costume π More photos on my Facebook page's album @: https://www.facebook.com/pg/GwenCostumingCosplay/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1648298258723795 And yes, this is David Hewlett wearing it π

SGA Personal Shield Generator prop
Dr Rodnay replied to drsyn71's topic in SGA - Stargate Atlantis Prop Tutorials
My own looks like yours. To light it up, I made a little electronic system with a 3032 battery, two cold white LEDs and an ILS switch, so that I can light it up only by putting it on me like the real deal π
